Counsels on Education

Education comprises more than a knowledge of books. For Ellen White, the purpose of education went far beyond the three Rs. In this volume she states, “It is right for he youth to feel tha they must reach the highest development of their mental powers. We would not restrict the education to which God has set no limit. But our attainments will avail to nothing if not put to use for the honor of God and the good of humanity Unless our knowledge is a steppingstone to the accomplishment of the highest purposes, it is worthless.”

A great deal of Ellen White’s writing and ministry was dedicated to Adventist education. Seven of the nine volumes of the Testimonies for the Church contain chapters devoted to education. Now, these important chapters are gathered into one volume for the convenience of the reader. Parents, teachers, school administrators, students — anyone with an interest in Seventh-day Adventist education — will find this book invaluable.

Each chapter of this book retains its original Testimony format, with page content, volume number, and paging a facsimile of the original from which it is taken.
