Donation for Indian Orphanage

Your choice.

Amt:
Laymen Ministries has a growing orphanage project in South-East India. These children come from heart breaking situations and we are so happy we can help make a difference in their lives.

You can sponsor a child for around $100 per month. We also provide the children with a quality education at a nearby Adventist school. There are costs involved with running an orphanage. We have stipends for caretakers, supervisors and cooks, which amounts to $500 a month for three people. Other expenses include food, transportation, and electricity, which come to around $1200 a month.

We hope to build the girls’ dorm soon. Due to the fact that Indian laws have become very strict in regards to running orphanages, we have to build a completely separate facility for the girls. They want us to separate everything - even the staff members. This is a good thing, as there has been a lot of abuse across India. Thankfully, our facility has high marks and is well respected by government inspectors. In fact, they recommend children to come to our orphanage.

But separating everything also means duplicating everything. This means twice as many staff, a separate kitchen, and a separate cafeteria. Shall we not help the girls, too? In a culture that already treats girls as one mark higher than a cow, we think it is the right thing to do. Orphan girls need a chance to do something with their lives and have the same opportunities to love God and get an education! Please pray with us about these needs.
