Since the fall of Communism, Laymen Ministries has been working in the country of Romania. Amazing things have happened over the years — from church planting to national evangelism to setting up a prison ministry. From 1993 till today we have printed over 500,000 books, 1,300,000 Bible lessons, and 1,450,000 booklets and tracts, plus purchased thousands of Bibles!

At one time, while distributing the book, The Desire of Ages, in all the prisons in Romania, we were televised internationally on CNN and on Romanian National TV. These books were printed on former communist party presses! The General of the prisons stated in public, "We used to put people in prison for these books! Now we are putting these books in prison!"

Today, we still support the work of ASUP (Humanitarian Prison Services in Romanian), a prison ministry established by Laymen Ministries back in 1994. We hold meetings and worship services, publish literature, train inmates to reach inmates, provide simple amenities, and even continue helping inmates once they are released from prison. We also help the families of inmates who are trying to survive in severe poverty and who receive little help from government aid. Your help is greatly appreciated.
