Nepal is a small Himalayan country that lies between India, Tibet, and China.
Laymen Ministries started working there in 1999. We have had many amazing experiences over the years, such as holding the largest Christian program in the history of the city of Kathmandu - a Health Expo! We have translated and published 1000s of books and tracts. Our workers are also focusing on meeting the physical needs of many by training students in health outreach, simple remedies, and preventive care; as well as literacy classes, Bible and theology, and some life skills classes such as tailoring classes for women and other skills for men.
We support projects led out By Sandra Horner, who has worked with our Ministry for years. She operates a training school for Nepali and North Indian students. For years she has traversed the rugged mountains on Nepal, taking her students in to help educate these people on better hygienic principles.
We also support an organization headed by James Wilson called Jeewit Bachan. They are heavily involved with media production and do outreach programs such as dental examinations and other medical work amongst the village people found in the villages at the foothills of the Himalayan mountains.
