A three part documentary tracing the almost forgotten history of the Waldenses.
Amid the gloom that settled upon the earth during the long period of papal supremacy, the light of truth could not be wholly extinguished. In every age there were witnesses for God -- men who cherished faith in Christ as the only mediator between God and man, who held the Bible as the only rule of life, and who honored the Sabbath.
Among these faithful witnesses for God, the Waldenses stood foremost. Here behind the lofty bulwarks of the mountains they found a refuge and kept the light of truth burning through the darkness of the Middle Ages.
Scattered over many lands, they planted the seeds of the Reformation that began in the time of Wycliffe, grew broad and deep in the days of Luther, and is to be carried forward to the close of time by those who also are willing to suffer all things for the Word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
See how these people of the Book lived, how they trained their children, how they shared their faith. The scenes of the past shed a light on the fast approaching struggle of the future.
