Laymen Ministries produces a satellite TV program entitled
Saving Hands, which is broadcast in the Tamil Indian language. This program has great effect from Europe, across India, and into Asia. It is the only Christian program on this all-Hindu network! We also have cable downlinks in most of the major cities of India, as well as into Saudi Arabia, Arab Emirates and other countries in the Middle East. We often get responses from Tamil-speaking people working in those countries (where thousands of Indians are employed!) Pastors Johnson and Samuel both host this culturally adapted program.
Laymen Ministries started a new TV series in South India called Your Bible Questions, featuring Pastor Shadrach Samuel. After Pastor Samuel worked with Doug Batchelor of Amazing Facts, he decided to start a new TV program in the Tamil language based on Doug's same format. The program has been a great success. Each week Pastor Samuel reads letters from viewers, giving their name and where they live in India, and then answering their question from Scripture. People love writing in, hoping their name will be read on the air, and so they invite family and friends to watch. So while viewers are hoping for those few seconds of fame, at the same time Bible truth is being shared with literally thousands of viewers!
