Julius Gilbert White (1878 – 1955) was born in Jamaica, Vermont. Serving for over eleven years as the head of the Lecture Bureau at Madison College, Tennessee, he worked to disseminate knowledge of the principles of health and wholesome living. Each season he conducted a Health Institute in connection with Madison College to help train young men and women in the principles of healthful living and for the lecture platform in this field of endeavor. J. G. White himself spent much of his life in serious study and research in the science of health, diet and nutrition, gathering a wealth of material for this work. Throughout his full life, his work was well received by educators, businessmen, church workers and officials. He has lectured before large audiences in both schools and churches across the country.
